What might be causing my hair to change to white/gray and then back to its normal color again?

I'm 22 and my hair is mostly black but occasionally I find strands of hair that have turned white/gray and then changed back to black. I used to think that it might be periods of stress that would cause some hairs to turn white and then when there was no stress the hair would change back to black, but I haven't had much stress in my life lately and I am still finding these hairs! My hairdresser has never seen anything like it and I'm just wondering why it might be happening.

The same thing is happening to me. I have natural black hair and some hair is going white at the top of my head, but only in a specific spot, and some strands are growing blond but then midway they look like they went back to black or vise versa. I went to a dermatologists and he said that it might be that the hair follicules might be loosing (spelled right?) their color/hair color. Other than that he said it might be due to bad nutricion, stress, or just hair changing.
