dry out my hair as much. It makes it a little oily tho, is it gross or should i just take the good with the bad, like without it my hair is kinky and poofy , after smooth, wavy and a little greasy. any thought??

I say just use whatever works for you! Maybe just use a little less of the product so your hair isn't so greasy.

try to use it only at the tips and not the root of your hair that is near the scalp! If you keep it away and only use it around the tips and middle of the strand i think you'll be ok! =)

Well, I'm am African-American and I use different products. Some that would be considered for "white" hair and ones for "black" also. I guess it depends on what works best for you. But if your hair seems greasy, maybe you should try something else. Also you could consult a stylist, they may be able to give you some ideas of products that can help your specific hair type and condition..

I do the same. I am half mexican and have coarse curly hair so the products made for black hair work better.

I can totally relate! I have very thick wavy hair, and I use Both types of products! It actually depends on the type of style you're waring from day 2 day! My mom is a cosmetologist...so I remember using her products 2 see which ones actually work. I suggest using Paul Mitchell Products (pomade) and LA Activator Gel. These products work 4 me. Just remember "Less" is "Best"!
