My daugter is 2 1/2 years old and has a lot of curly hair. She is white,black and filipino so her hair is out of control. What products can I use to tame her hair and stop it from getting tangled up and dried out. What shampoos are best for tri or biracial kids? What styling products are best to use for her hair type?

OKAY... This is by far the best product out and it is perfect given the texture of your daughters hair. It is called Baby Buttercreme. It is a base of shea butter, and it is a wonderfrul product that I have been using on my own daughters hair since she was about 4 months old (She's 8 months now). It is extremely gently, smells nice, and leaves her hair curly, moisturized and bouncy without any oily residue or greasiness. (She has alot of hair)

PLEASE do not use any hair products like Pink oil moisturizer or hair mayonaise or any other "black" products that advertise to tame curls. They will weigh her hair down and make it look greasy and dirty.

So this should be your system:

Shampoo: Johnson and Johnson BABY shampoo...

While her hair is still wet: Baby Buttercreme, depending on how long her hair is will dictate how much to use, but as you grow more accustomed to using it, you'll figure out how much to use. If she has full hair down to her shoulders or upper back, I would think about a big ole' glob that you scoop out with two fingers would be appropriate.

Then let her hair dry naturally! NEVER use a blow dryer on her hair at this young of an age. And PLEASE dont use a comb or bristle brush in her hair. ONLY when it is wet should you use a paddle brush to go through her hair. This is the best detangler tool for hair and is gentle on their sensitve heads. Oh yea, I left that step out... brush her hair after you use the buttercreme. Its not a good idea to work with hair without product in it! And I love talking about hair so if you need anymore advice, please email me.

BTW, one little issue, Baby buttercreme is $60 each for a jar about the size of peanut butter... but it works!

johnson and johnson makes a great detangler my daughter is bi racial and when she was smaller i used it in her hair when it was wet and then i combed through it and then i rubbed baby oil between my hands and rubbed it throughout her hair and then i would just style it in pigtails or whatever also there is grease (pomade) that you can purchase by the ethnic hair products for the front hairline so it doesnt get frizzy quick

first , don't try to make it straight. naturally curly hair is beautiful. pantene has a product for relaxed and natural hair so try that. my other suggestion would be, after you shampoo her hair, condition it. use a wide tooth comb to seperate the curls, which will help with the detangle process.

while I applaud your interest, mentioning your child's race does not tell us what type of hair she has. Both of my children are mixed, my daughter with white and my son with white and american indian. My son's hair is completely manageable, I just throw a little coconut oil on his scalp and call it a day. However, my daughter has the nappiest hair in the world, she she uses different products. Mainly a flat iron and some good grease :) Everyone, children included, has different hair. Do not use products on her hair that are harsh, because from the way you have worded your question, she doesn't have nappy hair, just curly, and you can comb through curls, but not naps! A little creme will do wonders, but you have to find something that worls with HER hair, not someone else's tri racial child.

BTW... do not EVER put baby oil in her hair. It contains an ingredient that dries out the cuticles and that is the last thing you need.

I think that you should go some make over. Besides, if you really want your hair to look good you must have to spend for that. If you mean some of the strands in your hair have turned white I can help. If your hair is brown I suggest just getting some hair dye to make if dark and all match. I recently dyed my hair blonde, like Reese Witherspoon/Ashley Tisdale blonde and it looks gorgeous. All together too/same color. So dyeing it might be the best suggestion. I'm guessing your hair is brown like that. Or you could lighten everything or simply hide them everyday by pulling your hair back. HOpe I help!

stick with one hair products.Massage her hair with warm coconut oil for about fifteen minutes, at least once a week. Let the oil stay in her hair for around an hour, and shampoo off. Apply egg to her hair once a week if possible, or once a month. Whisk the egg with a fork and apply it to the hair after applying the oil. Curd is also excellent for the hair, but if your daughter is prone to catching a cold, don't apply curd, and instead of coconut oil, use almond or olive oil. Always wash oil off. If you have dyed hair, use a "color/dye remover first". Then bleach it, and MAKE SURE that you mix in 1-2 packets of toner (blue or purple powder). The toner will keep your hair from turning yellow/orange/brassy. It takes all of that brassiness out, leaving behind the lightest/whitest blonde you'll reach. If you want it to work better, faster, cover your hair with foil, and then put a shower cap that's wet on the inside over that. take a blow dryer and just get the heat all over your head. The foil will keep the bleach on your hair... the water in the shower cap will create a steam and keep your hair from drying out. Once bleach gets dry, it stops working. You need to keep the bleaching paste you make wet for as long as you can, but the heat will lift the color more.

First you didn't state what color you re starting with. re you blonde or are you all the way brunette.

You course of treatment would be to bleach your hair with a high quality bleaching product usually sold at Sally's. The amount of time to bleach your hair really depends on the color you are beginning with.

My hair will bleach to white in 20 minutes. If you are brunette you may need to reapply because the bleaching action only lasts as long as two hours if the product is kept moist both in the dish and on your hair. After 2 hours the action stops.

If it is not light enough then you must shampoo dry and re apply.

The problem is that bleaching will eventually dissolve the outer layer of the hair called the cuticle. When that happens your hair is ruined and feels like mush when it is wet.

The other problem is that you cannot just apply the bleach because you should keep the bleach away from your scalp. It will be lighter there because of your body heat making that area of the bleach woork faster as opposed to the ends of your hair.

A very tricky process probably best to go to a salon and watch the procedure and then just do your own touch ups.

stop using the purple shampoo every time u wash ur hair it leaves a tint to the hair thats why they call old ladys the blue or purple hair ladys because they use it to much so only use the shampoo once a week but stop using it for a couple of weeks to get rid of the tint left from the shampoo and it should help with the the purple color left on ur hair

get a clarifying shampoo... redken has one that works and smells delicious too.. the only problem is most will strip most of the color out of your hair after some uses so you will have to dye it again most likely depending on the natural color of your hair.. and i cant stress it enough how worth it it is to have a professional dye your hair for you.

I can't tell you how to prevent this situation, but it isn't completely uncommon. I know a few people who have gone gray or completely white in their teens or early twenties. Hair loss also varies and isn't uncommon even at very early ages.

You may want to see a doctor, just to be sure you aren't lacking in any particular vitamins, or experiencing symptoms of some health issue - being sick can cause hair problems. Using drugs can also do it.

If it's not any of the above, and just a natural change, I'd advise trying to stick to a healthy lifestyle. Keep fit, eat a balanced diet, avoid drugs and stimulants. Don't wear hats, don't use strong chemicals on your hair, don't overbrush.

If you have ruled out stress, medical conditions and nutritional deficiency, too much chlorine in your water, etc., I recommend Spirulina (available in tablet or capsule form) for hair loss (I am not sure about premature greying). It worked for me and my daughter. I started with 2 tablets twice daily and later reduced the dosage to 1 twice daily. It takes 2 to 3 months before there is a noticeable difference. These are most likely flat worms. They are present in nearly all tanks but usually only come out when it is dark since they ae sensitive to light. They feed on leftover food and waste that has sunk into the gravel. If you do a water change using a gravel vacuum their number will greatly diminish. Also, if you have a snail he will eat them. They are not bad or harmfull or mean you have a dirty tank. try also feeding your fish a little less.

Use 40 volume peroxide. You may need to get it at a beauty supply shop, typical drugstores only carry 20 volume peroxide. If your hair has alot of red undertone you may never get your hair totally white.

Peroxide will work...the more concentrated it is the more it will bleach, but it's bad for your hair. The .03 percent stuff you get for cuts and scrapes won't do anything. You don't want to get it on your scalp.

When this occurs hair will not take color .The only way I can think of is go to a salon andhave it bleached so it will soften then add color it is a hard process on white hair so make sure your salon is a good one or she could try using some temporary rinses which come in lots of colors just wash the hair apply and let dry yes u must do it every time but they are gentle and safe and very in expensive and she can be what ever color her mood desires

If she will keep trying different brands - soon will lost hair.

A salon may be able to help. I am 26 and my hair has started to turn grey/white and whenever I dye my hair, the white hairs don't take either. So, I just end up plucking them out. This obviously won't work in a few years though!!! So, when you find out what to do, let me know!!!
