I don't want it to go brassy yellow, it has a bit of perm left in it from a year ago and has highlights, I am dark blonde naturally, I don't want it to break off either! All the home kits claim to be ;lightest ash blonde' and come out medium orangey blonde!

i wouldnt at home its really risky hair is such a fragile thing, i think that you should get it done but even if you do they will not let you do it in one sitting so i guess if your mind is still stuck on doing it yourself bleach it and then do it again a week later and then again untill the color u want shows up , just make sure you relax it in between those few weeks

The short answer is you can't do it at home and guarantee the results will come out exactly the way you picture, unless you have been to beauty school. Coloring hair is much more than picking a shade on the box and applying it on your hair. There's a lot of chemistry and color technique that goes into the bleaching process. If the terms "color wheel," "level" and "lift" don't ring a bell, then I would recommend to get this done by a professional rather than risk damaging your hair. Its especially important to go to a pro if you've had any other chemical processes or color applied to your hair.

For punk white hair I would highly recommend going to a salon. You run the risk of damaging your it since bleach is such a strong product. And you know once it is bleach damaged, the only thing you can do is cut it off so it can be back to normal.

You acutally have to strip your hair - by using Peroxide (the hairdresser type) You leave it on your hair until the desired effect has been achieved. Remember to put cream or petroluem jelly around your face before you do it to prevent burns.

please dont attempt this yourself. hairdressers no best when it comes to dying hair. there are so many people home-dying these days when they are advised not to, and they end up with a swollen face or hair falling out from an allergic reaction. hairdressers are professionals so let them loose on your hair, thats what they are there for.
