How do I cover grey/white hair?

My hair seems to be falling out because of hair colouring to 'wipe out' my grey hairs. Any other ways to color hair-- and prevent hair loss.

Anyone use aloe vera for this? I've read that it promotes hair growth.

It sounds like you might be coloring your hair too much? You should only be coloring your new growth every 4-6 weeks (meaning roots only) If you are doing the entire head and coloring over color that is why your hair is falling out. It is probably not falling out, maybe breaking off. That can be caused by over processing.

Also, what kind of color are you using? If you are buying a store color that contains alot of harsh chemicals that could be another bit of your problem. Those cheap store products are not doing hair any favors, the are very damaging.

You might want to try going to Sallys Beauty Supply and ask them to match you up w/ a Grey-Busters color, it is specially designed for grey-white hair. Also get a 10 vol. cream developer (you don't need anything stronger because you are depositing color not lifting) Get a color bottle for mixing %26amp; applying, gloves, a sectioning comb, clips to seperating the hair. Ask the person you talk to if they can show you how to section and just do roots. This will be alot better for your hair. The only thing is it may be very ackward to do the color yourself, maybe have your husband, older daughter or friend do it for you.

Also, only leave on the recommended time the directions say, leaving on longer does nothing but cause more damage to the hair.

Henna is the only other way I know to color grey hair. I haven't heard anything about aloe vera promoting hair growth. Hair is fed by the blood of your body.
