When CATS get scared, does some of their hair turn white like some of ours?

I'm writing this character biography for a RP site and I was wondering if this could happen.

Answers appreciated.

cats can get gray hair with age. our hair doesn't turn white. hair is dead and can only start growing white when it looses it's pigment.

No. But they'll get some grey hairs when they get old. I don't think that actually happens to people, either, I think it's just an old wive's tale.

When cats are scared or stressed, they do shed more than usual, though. When I am holding my cat when she's stressed (say, when the vacuum cleaner is running), I'm always covered in hair afterwards (like 4x as much as normal)

Not sure I have never seen a person's hair turn white because they were scared. I have heard the hair might stand up, but to actually change color I am not sure of. A cats hair will stand up when frightened or threatened much like a dogs.

No. Old cats get grey around the muzzle, but not anywhere as much as dogs do (their whole faces can turn gray over time).
